Rava upma

Equipment

  • 1 deep frying bowl
  • 1 spatula

Materials

  • 1 cup of rava
  • 3 cups of water
  • 1 tsp of mustard and jeera
  • 10 pieces of cashews
  • ½ cup of finely chopped carros
  • ¼ cup of coriander

Instructions

  • Take a deep frying pan and add 1 tbsp of oil. Next add 1 teaspoon of mustard and jeera seeds and a chilli gently fry them in low flame.
  • Next add 10 pieces of cashews and fry them till they turn golden brown.Then add 1/2 cup of chopped carrots and fry them for 3 minutes
  • Add the chopped coriander leaves and fry it
  • Next add 3 cups of water and 1/2 tbsp of salt and allow the water to boil well.
  • Once the water is boiled well, add the roasted rava little by little and stir it. Make sure there are no lumps.
  • Once you have added all the rava stir it and let it cook.
  • Once the rava has absorbed the water and cooked well, you can switch off the flame and add 2 tbsp of ghee and mix it again. Serve your rava upma.
